CAB SCREENS CRESCENT YAMAHA: HARRI KULLAS CONTINUES HIS PRO MX1 CHAMPIONSHIP DEFENCE AT THE MICHELIN MX NATIONALS

Harri Kullas continued the defence of the Michelin MX Nationals Pro MX1 championship at Oxford Moto Parc this weekend.

After qualifying 6th fastest, Harri blasted out of the gate and was 2nd round the first corner, before being pushed to 4th by the end of lap one. On lap five, Harri passed Evgeny Bobryshev into 3rd but the front two had built quite a gap and Harri held a comfortable 3rd place. Then just a few laps from the end, a small fall cost him a position and Harri rode to 4th in the race.

In race two Harri had an uncharacteristic bad start and was around 8th in the first few corners, making his way to 6th by the end of lap one. He made a pass on Tommy Searle for 5th on lap two and then closed the gap on Ivo Monticelli to move past on lap nine for 4th place, which is where he finished for 4th in the race and 4th overall.

Harri Kullas - “Average day today. Didn’t get the best starts and made a mistake in the first corner of the second race and dropped to 8th or so. First race was good riding, I was 4th and

catching 3rd when he made a mistake, and I passed him. Then I made a mistake a few laps later when a lapper stopped in front of me, and I crashed back to 4th.

Second race I made a few passes in the first lap and got to 6th, and then managed to move to 4th during the race, giving me 4th overall.

Not very happy with the results but felt like theriding was better this weekend”

Jamie Carpenter came to round three of the MX Nationals at Oxford Moto Parc, looking to build on some strong recent form. An issue off the start in race one meant Jamie had to fight

through the pack and moved as high as 9th mid race, before losing a place late on to finish an eventual 10th place.

Another similar race for in race two, as Jamie started in 11th and moved into 10 th place mid race to finish 10th and move to 7th place in the championship standings.

Jamie Carpenter - “Not the best of days bad starts affected my results having to come from way back in both races for two 10th place finishes. Time to knuckle down and get ready for EMX Open race in Belgium in two weeks' time.”

Sam Nunn was looking to get back to form here at Oxford Moto Parc, for round three of the MX Nationals series.

A terrible start meant Sam had his work cut out, but a blistering first few laps saw him in 4th place, pushing hard for 3rd in a five way battle of MX2 riders. Sam eventually succumbed to the dreaded arm pump with a few laps to go, but still came home in a strong 6th place.

In race two Sam was once again heading towards a top six finish, when a crash on lap 8 lost him nearly 30 seconds and he brought it home for an 8th place finish.

Sam Nunn - ““Felt like my riding was ok, but just missing the top end speed right now. 6-8 in the motos was all I had today. We have got a few weeks off now, so time to sort some things out and get ready for the next one”
